Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Intern role provides an opportunity to experience hands-on testing of software in mobile and web-based applications. Candidates will be exposed to testing procedures, including defect tracking, defect management and release validation, working alongside team members from product and development in an environment that is fast-paced.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine user stories, business requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure thorough test coverage.
- Create, write and test scenarios and cases.
- Track, log and track defects using JIRA
- Re-test to confirm the bug fixes and ensure closure
- Test User Acceptance for Support (UAT) and Release cycles
- Make test data available and help in setting up the environment
- Make sure that the test documentation is accurate and execute reports
- Be in close contact with product managers, developers and QA professionals
Required Skills for the QA Intern Role
- A solid foundation for manual testing, SDLC, and STLC
- Experience using defect tracking tools, like JIRA
- Basic understanding of at minimum 1 programming language (Java or JavaScript)
- Great attention to detail in finding edge cases and assessing risk
- Strong communication skills that are strong in both written and verbal capabilities to facilitate teamwork
Preferred Skills (Advantage)
- Basic API testing experience using Postman
- Automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies
