Job Responsibilities

This Banking Deposits & Payments Specialist task involves processing financial transactions made through a variety of ways, including paper-based documents, ATMs, mobile banking, remote deposit capture and lockboxes. The main responsibilities are:

• Correct Transaction Processing: Check the authenticity of all documents and that they are correctly keyed as per the MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) standard.
• Balancing Financial Entry: Review every financial transaction entry to ensure that credits and debits are in balance, and resolve the discrepancies with needed adjustments.
• Handling Exceptions: Analysis and management of Positive Pay exceptions as well as return of deposits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with the other team members to guarantee smooth processes and conformity to bank guidelines and policies.
• Compliant to Banking Standards: Follow established guidelines for opening accounts and maintaining CDs, checking, savings and money market accounts.

This position demands flexibility to work evening shifts, and flexibility to any possible move depending on the business requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this job, Candidates must fulfil the following requirements:

• Educational Background: Commerce Graduates Only
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of pertinent experience working in banks and financial transaction processing or deposit operations.
• Domain Experience: A solid knowledge of deposits, account servicing procedures, and bank policies. Experience with savings, checking, CDs, and the money market account is required.
• Tech Proficiency: Expertise in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), with advanced Excel capabilities for data analysis and report writing.
• Analytical abilities: Excellent analytical abilities with a focus on detail, find and fix any discrepancies in financial transactions.
• Excellent communication skills: Both verbal and written. skills for working effectively with teams that are cross-functional.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work during shifts at night and move in accordance with business needs.
