Job Description

The Software Engineer plays a significant role in the development, design and maintenance of solutions built for streaming live events in real-time. The ideal candidate has a solid background in programming and experience developing distributed systems that utilise the most advanced technology for streaming data.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, deploy, and maintain Kafka-based solutions for to live streaming of events.
Design optimized for producer and consumer applications for producer and consumer.
Control Kafka subjects, partitions, configurations, and settings.
Connect Kafka to enterprise-level systems by using Kafka Connect or Kafka Streams.
Monitor the performance for the entire cluster. Identify issues and guarantee the security of the system.
Use message schemas using Avro, Protobuf and JSON.
Design capacity and implement strategies for scaling.
Join cross-functional teams, like DevOps, Data Engineering, and Application Development.
Document best practices and guidelines to configure.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A deep understanding of the Apache Kafka Architecture along with the Apache Kafka infrastructure.
Experience with Java, Scala, or Python to create backends.
Experience the benefits of Live-time processors and the benefits of using distributed systems.
In-depth training with Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams and Schema Sign-up.
Experience using cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience by monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and Confluent Control Centre.
A basic understanding of the architecture of microservices, together with event-driven systems.
Experience using pipelines for CI/CD, as well as tools to control versions (e.g. Git).
