Key Responsibilities
- Perform vulnerability assessment and aid in penetration testing to find weaknesses in the system.
- Monitor the traffic on your network and receive alerts about security in order to recognise and respond to any potential threats.
- Facilitate the setting up and strengthening of firewall intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and Endpoint Security tools.
- Record the findings, steps to correct them and assist in maintaining thorough security playbooks.
- Work with teams across functional lines to conduct incident response and analysis of root causes.
- Be aware of new cyber threats, vulnerabilities and the latest industry best methods to implement the most effective defence strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate diploma with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a specialisation in Cybersecurity.
- An understanding of the fundamentals of the methodologies used to assess vulnerability and tools.
- Basic understanding of network concepts such as TCP/IP routing, switching, and firewalls.
- Experience with the most common security software (e.g., Nessus, Wireshark, Metasploit) and frameworks (e.g., NIST, OWASP).
- A strong analytical mind with problem-solving capabilities to deal with the most complex security challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for developing technical documentation.
- Attention to the smallest of details and a commitment to maintaining high security standards.
