Samsung Hiring Drive: An industry-leading infrastructure and engineering organisation is looking for dynamic and skilled Mechanical Engineering graduates to join as a Graduate Engineer Trainee (Mechanical) at its Mumbai BKC office. About the Role
The Graduate Mechanical Engineering Trainee role concentrates upon mechanical support for design, coordination of projects and technical review for construction and infrastructure projects. The candidate selected will work with experienced engineers to create, review, revise and refine mechanical systems and plans that are in line with safety and cost specifications. The job provides valuable instruction regarding Revit MEP workflows and designing integration, tender documents and collaboration between construction and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development:
- Participate in the design process of engineering that incorporates essential safety measures in construction as well as the end-of-the-line operations.
- Assist in preparing and editing the layout drawing by using Revit MEP tools while maintaining conformity with the project’s specifications.
- Constructability and Safety Implementation:
- Encourage the implementation of the Constructability Review Process to enhance the efficiency of design and site accessibility.
- Help to identify problems in design that impact the constructability of buildings and suggest solutions.
- Cost and Budget Compliance:
- Learn about estimates for the initial project and help the design team with maintaining the budget.
- Participate in value-engineering exercises that improve performance without exceeding cost goals.
- Include trends and changes that have been approved into the design documentation to ensure cost transparency.
- Change and Issue Management:
- Participate in the change estimate process in the design phase. Also, assist in resolving cost-related problems after the project has been completed.
- Keep detailed documentation of design changes as well as engineering calculations and change requests, to ensure traceability.
- Documentation and Coordination:
- Create and maintain documentation to be used for Design Meeting Minutes, Design Packages and technical submissions.
- Work with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve design-related questions or requests for Information (RFI).
- Schedule and Progress Tracking:
- Assist in the development as well as monitoring the development plan in accordance with the overall project timeframe.
- Review the performance of design consultants as well as subcontractors to make sure that all requirements are achieved.
- Visit the design offices and site locations to check progress and confirm the implementation of your design.
- Review and Quality Assurance:
- Examine the design drawings and the construction specification, tender documentation and design calculations to ensure precision.
- Examine designs to ensure they are in compliance with the project’s standards, quality standards and mechanical design guidelines.
- Collaboration with teams across functional lines to address design ambiguities or mechanical layout concerns.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Assist engineers at the top in identifying opportunities for process improvement for design processes.
- Keep abreast of the most recent standards for mechanical designs, MEP modelling advancements, and industry best practices.
- Other Assigned Duties:
- Additional engineering tasks can be performed as required by the project or leadership management teams to assist in the project’s implementation.
Candidate Requirements
- A solid knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, HVAC, plumbing systems and piping designs.
- Training or hands-on experience for Revit MEP is required.
- Great analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and coordination for multidisciplinary teams.
- Focused on detail with a focus on accuracy, quality, and security in the field of design.
- Ability to manage many tasks in a hectic project environment.
