Key Responsibilities of the Data Engineer Role
As a Data Engineer working at Motorola Solutions, you will be responsible for designing and enhancing ETL pipelines that power the mission of keeping the public safe. This is what you’ll be doing:
- Develop and Maintain ETL Pipelines: Leverage Python, NumPy, Pandas, PySpark, and Apache Airflow to develop scalable and efficient ETL data workflows for transformation and enrichment of data.
- Design Reporting Solutions: Design separate ETLs for reports, so the data can flow into BI without any blockage.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize ETL pipelines to ensure that they can process volumes of data.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with data engineers, business teams, and stakeholders to ensure data is accurate and workflows are reliable.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Solve Problems Debug problems you see with ETL to preserve data quality and reliability.
- Leverage Cloud Technologies: Leverage AWS, Azure, and GCP to develop, deploy and maintain Sift’s ETL solutions in the cloud.
- Apply Big Data Tools: Use Hadoop, Spark, Kafka to work on large volume of data.
- Server-Side Development: Apply your database, multithreading and asynchronous IO knowledge to build robust backend systems.
This role also includes working with tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub for version control and CI/CD pipelines to ensure that development are latest and efficient.
