As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role within our Design & Engineering Function, engaging in sophisticated Aero Structure Design projects. This position is perfect for candidates who exhibit strong analytical abilities, technical skills, and a passion for transforming innovative concepts into practical solutions.
You will ensure that both customer and internal project commitments are fulfilled through your technical expertise, project management skills, and proficiency with advanced design tools. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to deliver effective, high-quality design solutions for metallic and composite aerospace components.
Larsen and Toubro Design Engineers Hiring Key Responsibilities
- Create and produce high-quality 3D design models and assemblies using CATIA V6.
- Interpret customer technical input documents and convert them into actionable design requirements.
- Conduct detailed 3D surface modeling and optimize designs for aerodynamics and structural integrity.
- Utilize MSC Nastran and Patran for mechanical simulations and pre-/post-processing in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Implement principles of multi-disciplinary design optimization (MDO) in project work.
- Work with the Composite Module in CATIA V6 for modeling and drafting composite structures.
- Generate precise 2D technical drawings for various component types, ensuring proper GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is applied.
- Collaborate with the analysis team to provide necessary design data, including inputs for Center of Gravity (C.G.), Moment of Inertia (M.I.), and mechanical properties.
- Maintain organized documentation of design specifications and project records.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills in relaying information with internal and external stakeholders, both written and verbal.
- Assist in the creation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation for design reviews.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and engagement in the team’s knowledge-sharing endeavors.
Larsen and Toubro Design Engineers Hiring Required Skills and Tools
- Proficiency in CATIA V6 (3D Modeling, Assembly, Surface Modeling, Composite Module).
- Strong understanding of Aerodynamics and relevant design principles.
- Familiarity with MSC Nastran, MSC Patran, and Abaqus FEA.
- Exposure to Star CCM+ / TAITHERM is advantageous.
- Solid grasp of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, material weight analysis, and mechanical characteristics.
- Proficient in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and produce results under tight deadlines.
- Previous experience or exposure to Defense & Aerospace projects is beneficial.

- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mechanical / Aerospace or related fields.
