Key Responsibilities

As an Privacy Data Protection Analyst, your primary focus is to provide support and assist in maintaining and implementing our company’s privacy programs and initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Risk assessment / management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with PII across processes, systems, and technologies.
  • Data Breach Investigations: Lead data privacy breach investigations, including root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventative actions.
  • Strategic Improvement Efforts: Partner cross-functionally to influence strategic efforts towards better privacy practice and compliance.
  • Privacy Compliance Reviews: Review for compliance with respect to privacy global stays and internal solutions, client projects and business practices.
  • Client Privacy Requirements: Evaluate and address client-specific privacy needs to provide custom solutions.
  • Policy Enforcement and Monitoring: Manage the implementation of data privacy policies and procedures for the functions and business units (cooperation, compliance).

Technical and Professional Requirements

You must have a good feel for privacy principles, and be able to apply these to the real world. Key technical responsibilities include:

  • Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs): Perform PIAs on new technology solutions and services, such as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives, biometric solutions, smartphone app-driven solutions, and web applications.
  • Privacy by Design: Review and advise on Privacy by Design principles for new products and platforms so that privacy is built in from the start.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

Although it is not necessary, below are additional skills and certifications that can help keep you ahead in the game.

  • Privacy Knowledge: Experience with global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR.
  • Certifications:
    • Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT)
    • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
    • DSCI Privacy Lead Assessor Certification (DCPLA)
  • Technical Skills: Understanding of privacy implications in technologies such as web applications, mobile applications, and biometrics.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to perform root cause analysis, risk assessments and compliance checks with depth and attention to detail.
