Role Overview
- Position Title: Apprentice – Illumina Genomics Division
- Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore (Onsite)
- Durability: 12 months (Contract)
- Stipend: Rs. 40,000 per month
- Eligible Batch: 2025 Graduates (B.E., B.Tech, MBA)
This program at Illumina provides an employment contract of 12 months that provides an organised training program, expert mentorship and experience with genomics operations. This is a great opportunity for those who are passionate about the latest research methods, analysis of data and the commercialisation of innovative medical technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with operational and administrative tasks for multiple genomics research projects.
- Co-operate with internal teams to assist in the execution of research, collecting data, as well as processing documentation.
- Learn about workflow processes that are related to lab management and data processing.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and performance monitoring.
- Get exposure to departments that are cross-functional, which include R&D operations, R&D business support.
- Make sure that confidentiality and accuracy are maintained when handling research data and reports.

Ideal candidates are organised, analytical, and keen to advance within the life and technology sciences industry. Ability to learn, communication abilities, and flexibility are the key attributes that make this job successful.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees with a focus on Engineering (B.E., B.Tech) or Business Administration (MBA).
- Year of graduation: 2025 (final-year students are eligible for application).
- Solid academic record that is consistent with achievement throughout education.
- A strong analytical mind and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to be able to work full-time from the Bangalore office.
Skills and Competencies
- Basic understanding of the life sciences and biotechnology, or research that is driven by data.
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications and technical tools for documentation or reporting.
- The ability to quickly adapt in changing project environments.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and ability to manage time.
- A proactive approach to discovering new technologies, researching methods, or tools.
