About You as a Software Engineer

As a Software Developer at IBM ISDL, you will work in the full spectrum of product development, design, implementation, testing and support. You will be responsible for core systems technologies such as operating systems, firmware, systems software, storage software, and cloud software. Key Responsibilities:

• Work with international development and product management teams to help create and deliver next generation solutions.
• Determine product requirements, design high-quality code and model than in code.
• Contribute to all aspects of the software development life cycle, including validation and support for IBM Systems products.
• Build a culture filled with diversity and inclusion and driven by our passion for transforming the way the world uses cloud at scale.
• Bring new ideas and solutions to the table to improve product and user experience.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

You’ll need these technical and professional skills to succeed in this entry-level software engineering job:

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Programming Language: C, C++, Java, Python, GoLang, ReactJS, Groovy.
• Technologies: Solid grasp of Unix/Linux system internals, datastructures, and algorithms.
• Virtualization and Cloud: Familiarity with with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, or microservices architecture a plus.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively as a member of a global team.

Desired Skills and Experience

This software engineering role requires these bonus skills:

• Experience with OpenStack, DevOps, cloud application development.
• Knowledge and hands-on UI experience with Vaadin, React JS or styling libraries like Bootstrap or Material.
• Familiarity with J2EE or JSP, RESTful web services or GraphQL API.
• Solid experience working with JavaScript, Ansible, Node. js, or SQL databases.
• Knowledge in AI/ML concepts, data science or natural language processing (NLP) to extract actionable insights.
• Experience in server performance management, capacity planning, or performance diagnostics.
• Excellent team player with good communication skills will be of added advantage.
