Role and Responsibilities

As an Associate System Engineer, the primary focus will be on contributing to the software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and ongoing support. This role involves creating high-performing, scalable, and responsive applications that empower clients’ hybrid cloud and AI strategies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Problem-Solving and Solution Optimisation: Analyse system challenges, validate issues, and propose enhancements under the guidance of architects and technical leads.
  • End-to-End Process Involvement: Engage in every phase of development, including designing, coding, testing, and troubleshooting, while ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Innovation: Lead discussions with stakeholders to identify opportunities for creative coding solutions that address real-world business needs.
  • Technology Adoption: Work with modern tools and frameworks to build maintainable, high-availability applications aligned with client objectives.

This position provides hands-on exposure to the latest technologies, ensuring solutions are robust, efficient, and future-ready.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, IoT, Robotics, or Blockchain. A minimum of 6 CGPA or 60% is required with no active backlogs.
  • Graduation Year: 2026 pass-out. Candidates must complete their degree before joining IBM.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages like Java, C++, Python, or Node.js. Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent in written and spoken English to collaborate effectively with global teams and clients.
  • Location Flexibility: Willingness to work from any IBM Client Innovation Centre in India, including Mysore, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon, Chennai, Noida, Visakhapatnam, Navi Mumbai, Bangalore, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, or New Delhi.
