Role Overview

As a Technical Engineer – Problem Setter Intern, you will join a dynamic team responsible for designing and testing programming problems for public and private hackathons, challenges, and technical assessments. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and mathematics, who are eager to create real-world programming challenges and ensure their quality. Based in Bangalore with a hybrid work model, this 6-month internship offers the potential for extension and provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Problem-solving: Create stimulating and challenging challenges based on algorithms, data structures and mathematics, that are adapted to different levels of difficulty for hackathons and challenges and technical tests.
  • Real-life programming questions: Develop real-world, practical programming challenges that test the ability of candidates to use reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Tests for Problems: Review and test the solutions to problems formulated by team members in order to ensure clarity, accuracy and compliance with high-quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Review the question bank for technical mistakes, making sure that all issues comply with the guidelines established and are devoid of any ambiguities.
  • Code stub development: Create code in a partial form (code Stubs) for issues to aid candidates in solving the fundamental logic, not syntax, improving your experience with the application.
  • Candidates’ Support: Answer questions or suggestions that candidates face when solving issues using the platform, and ensure the smoothest experience.
  • Collaboration: Work in conjunction in conjunction with our team of the technical documentation team to remove any grammar or context ambiguities in problems, while ensuring accuracy and clarity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: A solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and mathematics, along with the ability to conceptualise challenges across a variety of difficulty levels.
  • Competitive Programming Experience: A dazzling profile on online platforms for coding like HackerEarth, HackerRank, Codeforces, CodeChef, or SPOJ is highly sought-after.
  • Trouble-Setting Skills: Experience in developing or testing problems on online judges or programming platforms is a benefit.
  • Attention: Ability to recognise and fix technical mistakes and inconsistent statements in problem statements and codes.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to respond to candidates’ queries and work in cross-functional teams to improve problematic content.
