The Research Analyst assists in strategic decision-making through providing data-driven insight on competition, markets and alliances. The job focuses on hands-on research along with econometric modelling and visual storytelling in order to inform senior leaders and the client’s stakeholders. The schedule is five days that provide regular exposure to world-class research frameworks, tools and models of engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Give leadership strategic insight on growth strategies and competitive changes, disruptions to the industry, and ecosystem collaborations.
- Use research methodologies and tools for commercial research to create customised research solutions that are tailored to the needs of clients.
- Conduct deep analysis of the strategic macroeconomic, public and policy areas by synthesising diverse sources and developing solid, evidence-based narratives.
- Create and implement an econometric model to analyse complex data and forecast the outcomes into concrete recommendations.
- Examine and interpret changes in public policy and economics to ensure that the recommendations remain relevant and current.
- Design captivating data visualisations that present complex information with precision and clarity.
- Communicate with customers to learn about their requirements, effectively present findings and make recommendations to address specific challenges and opportunities.
- Encourage innovation by improving methods of research as well as analytical tools, as well as strategic plans, continuously.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in economics from an accredited institution.
- Communication skills that are strong and can write compelling narratives both in written as well as spoken English.
- Expertise in statistics and econometric methods.
- Experience with R, SAS, or Python for modelling and analysis of data.
- Information about databases of the public sector that are available to the public sector, such as OECD, World Bank, and IMF, in addition to other sources of public information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- A strong interpersonal skill, along with the capability to work effectively in a team.
