Key Responsibilities

- Enhance engineering performance by implementing the best methods of coding, testing and deployment.
- Develop features that can enhance eBook purchasing, prior-purchase and checkout experience, providing seamless operation across all digital platforms.
- Solve complex technical issues in multi-tiered, distributed systems, while preserving efficiency and the ability to scale.
- You will work in a highly agile development environment that allows you to develop quality, innovative software solutions.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another related area.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a solid understanding of algorithms as well as object-oriented design, data structures and databases.
- Expert in writing high-quality code in an object-oriented language, preferred C, C++ or Java in the Linux environment.
- Strong communication skills that are strong, both verbal and written abilities.
- Ability to quickly learn and adjust to a rapid-paced learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced programming skills in object-oriented programming, specifically with C, C++ and Java, using UNIX as well as Linux platforms.
- A familiarity with scripting languages, such as Perl, is an advantage.
- Experience working with the use of distributed systems, databases with relational as well as algorithm development.
- Understanding of optimisation mathematics, including linear programming as well as nonlinear optimisation.
- The ability to communicate technical issues and suggest practical solutions.
- Comfort working with unclear or undefined issues and abstract thinking.
- Prior professional internships with software developers are highly sought-after.
