Shell New Hiring Drive: The Data Science Analyst role provides an interface to Shell’s Commercial Data Science (CDS) team, working closely with business interfaces and delivering meaningful data solutions. We are a member of the Digital Process Twin (DPT) portfolio and support this by converting complex process events into valuable information to improve business operations and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, cleansing, and transformation of process event data for advanced analytical models.
  • Perform EDA exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and abnormalities in processes.
  • Produce meaningful visualisations, dashboards and reports through tools – Power BI/ Tableau / Plotly Dash.
  • Support development and testing of analytical features, KPIs and metrics in predictive process models.
  • Contribute to building & maintaining process data models and data pipelines for good quality and consistency.
  • Work with teams across the organisation to ingest data from enterprise applications such as SAP, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.
  • Contribute to process mining with tools like Celonis EMS or SAP Signavio.
  • Assist in test, documentation and validation of analytical deliverables.
  • Gain a foundational knowledge of Responsible AI and Explainable AI (XAI) in your data science projects.

Candidate Profile

  • 0 – 2 years working experience in hands-on data analysis, process analytics and/or data science roles.
  • Strong Python and SQL data processing/transformation.
  • Familiarity with data science, machine learning/predictive modelling approaches for structured or event-based data.
  • A history with Python data libraries like pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation toolkits such as Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib / Seaborn.
  • Experience with process event or behavioural data, such as event logs and components of process mapping (case IDs, timestamps, activities).
  • Desirable experience in process mining tools, e.g. cEmb As is or with Celonis EMS, SAP Signavio or open source PM4Py.
  • Experience in data quality, ETL and feature engineering.
  • Ability to think analytically and detail-oriented, with problem-solving skills.
  • Keen interest to learn and implementing advanced data science, process analytics and MLOps in an enterprise context.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other relevant quantitative fields (Bachelor’s or Master’s level)
