Role Overview

It is a Java/Spring-Boot Developer task that involves creating backend APIs, defining APIs, and making sure that the system is running efficiently. This job requires a thorough knowledge of Java as well as database management, RESTful API development, as well as microservices architecture. The chosen engineer will be remote and work closely with teams of cross-functionality, ranging from front-end engineers to AI specialists, to develop projects that meet the performance and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, build and manage high-performance backend applications with Java along with Spring Boot.
• Create, optimise, and then consume RESTful APIs to access external and internal services.
• Implement best practices for optimising your database to MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational systems.
• Integrate security measures into your application, such as authentication, authorisation and input validation.
• Use the backend designs and the principles to ensure maintainable and scalable code.
• Manage errors, logging and tuning performance across multiple services.
• Effectively collaborate in a productive way with product managers, front-end and AI engineers to create new features.
• Use JPA/Hibernate to manage ORM and guarantee effective data persistence methods for your data.
• Use continuous integration, deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with Git and the latest DevOps methods.
• Document the codebase, APIs and workflows to ensure transparency and long-term reliability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A strong command of the Java programming language that is backed by practical experience within the Spring Boot framework.
• Experience in expertise in REST API development as well as MVC design.
• Experience in conjunction with MySQL, PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Experience in Microservices architecture and the design of distributed applications.
• Experienced and proficient in JPA/Hibernate for handling relational data.
• A solid knowledge of the workflow of Git/GitHub and the CI/CD fundamentals.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to optimise and debug complicated back-end systems.
• The knowledge of Security best practices and authenticating with tokens (JWT/OAuth2), and secure API communications.
• Understanding designs for the backend like Singleton, Factory, Repository and DAO.
• Effective communication skills to work in a fast-paced, agile workplace.

Desirable Skills

• A familiarity with the cloud platform, like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience the benefits of Docker as well as Kubernetes for container-based deployments.
• Knowledge of message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka to facilitate asynchronous communication.
• Experimentation with test frameworks like JUnit and Mockito.
• The ability to use AI/ML-integrated apps and systems that are driven by data. Basic knowledge of front-end Integration as well as REST-based client usage on tablet or web environments.
