Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments based on threats on cloud-based infrastructures as well as applications to discover potential vulnerabilities before they can impact your operations.
  • Examine the cloud security architecture to determine if it is in line with established security policies, guidelines for compliance and benchmarks for security.
  • Provide advice to clients on the process of creating and installing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and other security measures specifically designed for cloud-based environments.
  • Create and distribute comprehensive risk assessment reports to both stakeholders from the inside and outside and stakeholders, highlighting vulnerabilities, mitigations and areas for improvement.
  • Respond to and investigate security breaches in the cybersecurity field, as well as cloud-related threats and new security threats, with an emphasis on quick recovery and containment.
  • Develop, maintain and upgrade incident response playbooks as well as operational procedures that align with the changing threats.
  • Work closely with IT as well as legal and other departments in order to ensure that response efforts are coordinated and to maintain appropriate audit trails in security-related incidents.
  • Take part in reviews after incidents, and constantly improve security by active monitoring and refinement of processes.
  • Develop strong teamwork skills by working with multidisciplinary teams that span a range of engineering and security areas to safeguard client environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • An in-depth understanding of cloud public platforms and technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Knowledge of cloud security architecture, which includes hybrid integration, multi-cloud configuration and workload protection models.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles, identity and access management controls, encryption standards, Intrusion detection and protection systems (IDS/IPS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, firewalls, containers, and security tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experienced in conducting cloud security assessments as well as reviews of configurations, based on industry best practices and benchmarks.
  • An understanding of international standards and frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, Cloud Security Alliance Cloud Controls Matrix (CSA CCM), and CIS benchmarks.
  • A solid background in the life cycle of risk management, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and documentation.
  • Experience with cloud-native security tools as well as other third-party software to monitor and detect risk.
  • Capability to develop and implement cloud-specific security policies as well as frameworks for the organisation.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills are required for creating complete technical and compliance documents.
  • A proactive approach that emphasises accountability, responsibility and urgency in the management of security operations.
