The Software Debugging Engineer job is a highly dynamic work environment where technological curiosity, problem-solving capabilities and a keen eye for specifics play an integral role. The engineer will analyse the root of, then resolve issues at various levels, including installation and pipelines for deployment, to applications and runtime environments. The position is available to those with less than three years of experience as well as recent graduates with a solid foundation of debugging skills, analytic thinking and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose the system-level and software issues that are reported in various runtime environments.
- Work with teams that are cross-functional that including operations, development and testing teams, to determine the root cause and ensure that the product is stable.
- Monitor production systems to identify irregularities in performance, determine the level of tolerance to faults, and then drive efficiency improvement.
- Develop automated systems and error-logging methods to improve the debugging capabilities.
- Give detailed reports of incidents by identifying, analysing and logging persistent software issues that require solution.
- Make sure that all stakeholders are in contact in the course of issue resolution, to ensure the integrity of the timeline and quality of operations.
- Assist with rollouts of products and check stability after deployment to identify any problems or bugs.
- Participate in regularly scheduled workshops on knowledge transfer to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques, tools and enhancements to the system.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Debugging expertise that allows you to detect or isolate problems in real-time applications.
- Experience with programming languages like C, C++, Java, or Python is beneficial, but not required.
- A solid understanding of the Software development life cycle (SDLC) and a basic understanding of infrastructure components like databases, servers and deployment configurations.
- Ability to study the log files and outputs of systems to find malfunctioning areas in distributed systems.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented working environment.
- Sharp analytical thinking, with attention to specifics and the impact of user interaction.
- Excellent writing and oral skills for communicating effectively with operations, development, and management.
- Ability to work in a rotational shift to manage production support in time zones.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates with less than 0-3 years of experience in the field are suitable.
- Expertise in problem-solving and debugging, as well as analysis of software, is required.
- A solid academic base, strong academic foundation in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related fields.
- Students from the 2026 batch are not considered for this cycle.
- Candidates should be prepared to participate in an interview in Coimbatore.
- Candidates should show a desire to understand and learn about the architecture of the system in order to improve the quality of their debugging.
