Key Responsibilities

• Support Level 2 and Level 3 support for Java-based business applications that are used in a variety of environments.
• Verify the application’s performance and compatibility with the latest tools, such as Splunk Dynatrace, as well as similar platforms.
• Examine logs and incidents, and collaborate with teams of cross-functionality to ensure quick resolution within the established SLAs.
• Find and correct production issues to minimise downtime and speed restoration of services affected.
• Maintain close relationships with the development, infrastructure and middleware teams to find the root of performance issues or decreases.
• Conduct regular health checks and conduct preventative maintenance to prevent recurring problems.
• Join the deployment process in order to ensure smooth transitions and rollback validation, and release validation as required.
• Note every incident, the root cause analysis and resolution steps to ensure consistency in information sharing and improvements in the process.
• Maintain a detailed record of processes for assistance, known issues and workflows for escalation.
• Check that all actions are in accordance with the specified ITIL processes, which cover incidents, difficulties and change management procedures.
• Support for batch scheduling, middleware and integrated systems that connect to the most important applications.
• Join post-deployment monitoring and validation to ensure the success of the installation of all new functions or upgrades.
• Help identify performance bottlenecks by making changes to the code or the configuration, if needed.
• Continuously learn to stay up-to-date on the latest technology tools, applications and support practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Expertise is needed for Java programming as well as troubleshooting.
• An understanding of relational databases, as well as practical experience using SQL in writing queries, as well as performing analysis of data.
• Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability.
• Experience using monitoring tools for applications such as Splunk, Dynatrace as well and New Relic.
• Experience working using Linux and Unix command line for analysing logs, controlling the running of scripts or services.
• Know-how in Middleware APIs of components, middleware, as well as integration systems.
• Experience with ITIL procedures, particularly in relation to incident management, change of circumstances and problems.
• A knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Git-based platforms can be beneficial.

Educational Background
