We will provide innovative solutions to fulfil the ever-growing need for more efficient, faster and stable capacity in networks. It is a Software Development Engineer 1 position located in Bangalore, India, that focuses on creating and implementing L1 software applications devices drivers, device drivers, as well as the system-wide features required for modern telecom networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Create L1 applications as well as Device Drivers: Develop and implement control path and data-path software, including device drivers, with an eye on the customer’s specifications.
• Drive Features across the System: Get control of features starting from architecture and design to the delivery stage, ensuring seamless integration across different systems.
• End-to-End Design of Solutions: Contribute to communications frameworks and data path setups that span the optical (packet) as well as optical (channels) domains.
• Customer engagement: Contact directly with customers on queries and issues that arise, and ensure that solutions are in line with the needs of customers.
• Continuous Integration and Testing: Make use of the most advanced continuous integration pipelines as well as automated test suites that follow the Test Driven Development (TDD) guidelines to create quality features at a reasonable time.
• Use cutting-edge technology: Keep ahead of the curve by integrating modern, smart technology to develop effective, scalable solutions that are tailored to customer needs.

Skills and Qualifications

• Programming Experience: Expertise with one of C, C++, Go, Shell scripting or Python is a must.
• Embedded Systems Expertise: Experience with the development of software for embedded systems or Linux platforms is preferable; however, exceptional programming skills are a must.
• Conceptual Understanding of System Design: A good understanding of the design of software systems, threading, inter-process communication and OS concepts is highly beneficial.
• Device Driver Experience: Knowledge of boot processes on X86 processors (e.g., uboot, coreboot), board support packages (BSPs), and board provisioning/bring-up is a plus.
• Protocol Expertise: Knowledge about PCI, PCIe, SPI, DMA, I2C protocols, BCM switch programming, or IP stack drivers (e.g. Io-pkt driver) is beneficial.
• Rapid Learner: ability to quickly learn complex software architectures and module design.
• Ability to solve problems: Ability to understand and enhance existing codes while creating new ones.
• Testing experience: A good understanding of the automated test process in development software environments is an added advantage.
