Key Responsibilities

A Software Quality Engineer II will be a key player in ensuring that the product is of high quality by performing the following duties:

  • Testing Automation Development: Create, design, test, and manage automated tests for UI, backend API, and backend components using modern tools for the industry to build portable and effective test scripts.
  • Tests that are not functional: Develop and execute automated test scripts to confirm the non-functional requirements of your system, assuring quality and reliability.
  • CD/CI Pipeline Integration: Work with CI/CD pipelines to create, configure, and manage various test environments, which will ensure smooth integration as well as deployment.
  • Test strategy and Implementation: Examine the requirements, design complete test strategies, and implement both automated and manual tests to find flaws and ensure the quality of the product.
  • Control of Defect Problems: Troubleshoot, Report defects, and collaborate with teams of cross-functional specialists to fix the issues quickly.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Connect in international R&D and Product Management teams in an agile setting by providing status updates and participating in discussions about solving problems.
  • Qualitative Best Practices: Promote proactive quality initiatives by identifying functional requirements and using best-in-class testing techniques.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this job, Candidates should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or any related field of technology.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in software quality engineering or similar roles.
  • Expertise in Scripting: proficiency in high-level scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, or Shell scripting for automation of tests.
  • Operating System: Solid working understanding of Linux, along with Windows environments.
  • System Administration: Basic understanding of the administration of systems, such as managing small networks or systems.
  • Testing Experience: Experience with automated and manual testing methods to assure the thorough validation of software.
  • Mindset of Problem-Solving: Passionate about automating processes, analysing systems, and continually improving workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

Although not required, these qualifications and experiences can enhance the candidate’s suitability for the position:

  • Database Technologies: Experience using SQL, Cassandra, or MongoDB to test data-driven applications.
  • Configuration Management: Understanding of the principles of configuration management to improve the efficiency of testing.
  • Automated Frameworks: Understanding of building automation tools and frameworks for testing to improve effectiveness.
  • Server Administration: Ability to manage Windows, Linux, or UNIX servers for testing environments.
  • Virtualisation: A familiarity with server virtualisation technology, specifically VMware, as well as vSphere.
  • Competencies in Networking: A general understanding of network concepts such as Layer 2 and 3 switches, TCP/IP and SNMP.
  • Source Control: Experience using source control systems like CVS, Subversion, or Git to manage version control.
