As a Software Development Engineer at McCain Foods, you will play a major role in creating the design and maintenance of software applications that improve our operations and deliver an exceptional experience for our customers. Key Responsibilities
- development of new features: Collaborate with the top designers to design and code new features for software applications, in order to ensure seamless functionality and complete satisfaction for the users.
- Debugging and Troubleshooting: Find and fix problems in existing software systems to guarantee the highest quality and reliability.
- Qualitative Code: Be a part of the code review process, and give constructive feedback to ensure you’re writing high-quality, easily maintained code.
- Documentation: Create and maintain all documentation for software programs to facilitate collaboration between teams and the development process.
- Continuous education: Keep up-to-date with the latest techniques, tools, and methods to improve the effectiveness of the development process.
- Analysis and insights: Analyse large data sets to find patterns and uncover insights that will assist in the process of making decisions based on data.
- Dashboard design: Build and maintain dashboards and reports using tools for BI to provide you with a concrete report on the company’s performance.
- Security & Compliance: ensure compliance with security protocols for networks, as well as industry standards for the security of information as well as systems.
- Multi-Functional Collaboration: Work with a variety of teams to identify the requirements of data in order to design solutions and resolve security issues quickly.
Key Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree or higher or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or an area related to it.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience using programming languages such as Java, Python, and C/C+++.
- A thorough knowledge of SQL, as well as statistical methods to analyse data.
- Knowledge of security protocols and network protocols for networks.
- Experience using PowerBI, Tableau or similar tools for BI is a benefit.
- Soft Skills:
- A capacity to consider and come up with solutions to issues with a keen eye for detail.
- Great interpersonal communication and social skills that allow you to work effectively in teams with group members.
- A passion for adapting and learning new methods and technologies.
- Experience: Experience in developing software and data analytics is desirable, but is not necessary for those with solid fundamental abilities.
